1. Madras (Chennai) -the Capital of Tamil Nadu(T. N.)

- Main Central Shiva Temple from 12th century

- Madras Museum

- Palm leaf & Manuscripts at Madras University

- Handicraft shops/ Murtis / Bronce statues any seize

2. Tirupati Temple. 

not in Tamil Nadu itself but biggest and most important temples and pilgrimage Places for Tamil Nadu & in SouthIndia.

It's on top of a mountain, full of jungle, also Tiger Reserve/Tiger Zoo Park aside. A beautiful 5 hours hike brings you up the holy mountain and across it untill the huge and ancient temple complex.

The temple peak and its is made from massif gold. One of the richest temples in India. And definitively a place where time stands still!!

KanchiPuram - the City of "1000 temples"

1.5h drive from Chennai, to the southwest

It has 6 huge huge temple compounds built in different centuries, & therefore a completely different & unique temple architecture. Very ancient & powerful place. City also famous for silk saris. Main Ashram/Math Of Shankara Acharya inside the town. Nearby villahe: birthplace of Ramanuja Acharya (both ancient gurus) 

MahaBaliPuram

straight South from Chennai, 1.5-2hours. At the cost. Old temples and Sacred places in ruins since washed away by the waves. Tourist sight!! 

Trichy & Shri Rangam

Famous place of temple Ranganatha Swami. - It's a Perumal/one of 108 important Narayan temples. 

KumbaKonam

Very cool place. In and around K. are 13 Perumal temples /part of 108 Divyadeshams. They are said to be self-manifested murtis/statues of Lord/God Narayan. Very old temples with many 1000nds of year traditiins/ongoing worship. U can go around by taxi and enjoy the SouthIndian flair. SouthIndian food, fresh Drink-Coconuts, Mini-Bananas & more.

Going to the tip of where Rama's Bridge to Sri Lanka drifted back into the ocean. 18km to Sri Lanka from there.
