2. Udaipur & Village Nathdwara
Udaipur is a very historic City with an old Main Temple and more. Just an 1.5hours drive away is the little village of Nathdwara which has the Krishna Main Temple of Pushtimarga Tradition.
You find a cool market with all sorts of Rajasthani Arts, Cloths, handcraft, Jewllery more.
The temple has its own tradional music players there, that play old Raaga in a very slow speed. Traditional & Sacred food that is coming from the temple u can buy a where outside for the price of just 10Rupees at once!!) +(u get very flavored vegetable dishes, fried salty or sweet breads, fruit salads & more. Pld recepies r used where no red chilli is included!!
This is a very nice plavmce and a good change after driving thru the hot Rajasthani desert. U can spend at least 4inspiring hours here, or a whole day, or just for a stop.
It also has a little Sacred mountain where people walk around!!
3. Jodhpur
Where Jaipur is known as Pink City, this place is well known as the "Blue City" because many house wall are dark blue painted!
It's a touristic stop but one doesn't need to stay more thsn 1day there!!
4. Ajmer & Pushkar
Ajmer is a little town in the Rajasthani desert and u come thru on your way to Pushkar, which is the more important one!!
It has a cute lake where u can stop by or go for a Restaurant or Picnic. A small market is there but there is a lot of mix of Indians & Muslims! Don't plan to stay overnight here since police is not permitting international tourists to stay here due to security reasons. Please proceed to Pushkar or yr other destinations.
There is a lovely 45min trip from Ajmer to Pushkar, which is a small sacred village in the desert. The attraction is a well-known and to be the "onliest" Brahma temple within India, as well as a lake (named after a lotus flower pedal), and the Gayatri hill with a Devi Temple on top.
Pushkar is situated up in some hills, so u will have a very pleasant ride thru the valleys, forests & nature. If u arrive at night, u can also reach by auto rickshaw there (I think it was 3-400Rupees) provided u take an Indian/Hindu driver, that is preferred to Muslim drivers!!
Pushkar has a lovely market with artistic and colorful yoga and all types of cotton cloths. Girls skrits, dresses, and also sending parcels from here to your possible. They have also more Arts shops, handcraft, insence, music stores, and more. Also shops of sword and Samurai weapons r there. But u need to know about permissions to take them along in yr luggage or for shipping.
The Brahma temple is milleniums old. In the 12th century, the Great Indian teacher Shankara installed a 4headed Brahma-statue there and let the temple built. The temple is quite small but the structure is from the 12th century and it's very exciting.
U can make trips to the Gayatri Hill, Agastiar cave, Camel Riding, take dance classes (e.g. Odissi Dance) & more. Many tourist boots and western union shops are there to easier yr trip!
Many local cafes and chill out places r there!!
6. Camel Riding. & Jaisalmer.
They r few places where u can go also for 1day or 6day Camel Safari. It's much easier thow u go from Pushkar 45min outside and u can go for 1hour or 1.5hours Camel Riding. Wear sun protection if it's really hot!!
Jaisalmer is very far to drive! It is close to the border to Pakistan. U can go by night busses there. Or plan to better go to interesting & nearby cities in Rajasthan to enhance yr trip.
