1. Benares

A very famous place for tourists. Popular old city at the Banks of the River Ganges.

In the Middle Ages, it used to be a philosophical center of India and had very high lass Sanskrit schools. Even up today it is very famous for Sanskrit studies which are mostly runned by two universities (BHU & Sampurnanada). Many Ashrams are along the Banks of the Ganges, and tourists from all over India, as well as international tourists come here!

2. Prayag

- the place/confluence of the 3 big sacred Indian rivers  -Yamuna, Saraswathi &Ganges! It is said, that any person who visits there, all his sins are washed away, and he/she will not take rebirth here anymore but goes to the spiritual realm!! 

It is very powerful and amazing place! Actually, I felt like that (as described above). If u see the "Sangam" / the place where the 3 rivers meet u feel suddenly so refreshed, yr mind becomes happy, easy & clear! Actually, if u see from train (it goes over the river via bridge) u can see quite clear. 

Also the breez of the sacred Rivers is said that it purifies. 

Big festival of Kumbha Mela is hold here. 

3. Bodh Gaya

Place/Tree where Buddha got enlightenment!
