Rishikesh is reached from the by a 6hours bus, train or cab. It is situated at the holy river Ganges, and is at the starting mountains of Himalayas. It is on 360meter altitude but quickly from there u can reach up to 3000meter peaks!

 

Rishikesh got the title

"World Capital of Yoga"

and it yearly atracts 10.000nds of international tourists, especially Yoga tourists!!! 

Nowadays, a huge variety of yoga schools for all types of styles r there:

Hatha, Ashtanga, Shivananda, Iyengar, Aero Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation, as well as Mantra+-Singing, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda & Astrology r there!!!

Parmartha Niketan

for seeing the paintings and statues in the garden. Evening Aarti and Songs every day, starting 1hour before sunset at the Banks of the River/Ganges Ghat.

Beatles Ashram

- a place where in the jungle with 64 round meditation huts. It's a beautiful jungle experience there. The Beatles studied meditation here, and wrote many god-including song texts here!! Open till 5pm  to tiger reserve behind it!!

Wild Water Rafting. (9km, 15km, 25km) - this is seasonal due to it is not applicable during rainy season July, August every year!!!

-by walk to Nirjal, Padma or Garuda Waterfall. 

Trekking to close Mountain Peaks:

a beautiful trip is to Kunja-puri (a devi temple completely on a mountain peak/top (1600m). Yoga students go there to see sunrise or sunset above Himalayas. U get up there by bus or car and make a 4hours walk down to Nirjal Waterfall plus get back. Local guide needed. Be aware of tigers, leopards and wild elephants! And bird spiders. Lol! - not to scare u!! Usually nothing happens!!!
